Uzbekistan and Malaysia to co-develop new "Umrah Plus" routes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A roundtable was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, attended by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, and representatives from leading tourism associations in Malaysia.
Participants included the Islamic Tourism Center (ITC), the Bumiputera Tour Operators Association (BUMITRA), the Umrah and Hajj Travel Association, and the country’s largest tour companies.
The main focus of the meeting was the expansion of tourism cooperation, particularly the development of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan. The participants discussed successful practices for organizing "Umrah Plus" programs for Malaysian travelers and the prospects for implementing cross-border routes.
As a result of the discussions, the parties agreed to organize familiarization info-tours to Uzbekistan for representatives of the tourism industry and media from Malaysia.
Additionally, with the support of Malaysian companies, new "Umrah Plus" tourism programs and routes will be developed.
