Uzbekistan and Malaysia discuss strengthening tourism cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between Umid Shadiev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, and Raslan Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, was held in Kuala Lumpur.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism and implementing additional measures to boost tourist flows between the two countries.
Special attention was given to attracting Malaysian tourists, particularly in pilgrimage, cultural, and winter tourism. The parties also discussed the introduction of the "Umrah Plus" program for Malaysian travelers.
As a result of the talks, agreements were reached on joint projects to increase tourist flows and collaboration with Malaysia’s tourism associations and organizations to unlock Uzbekistan’s full potential in pilgrimage and winter tourism.
