Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan sign extensive package of bilateral documents

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Following productive negotiations between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, an extensive package of bilateral documents has been adopted.

Both leaders signed a Joint Statement on further deepening and expanding comprehensive strategic partnership.

During the state visit, 16 documents were signed, including an intergovernmental Agreement on resort and recreational management in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

Additionally, a protocol amending the Agreement on mutual trips of citizens was signed, and negotiations on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization were concluded.

Both sides also adopted protocols on cooperation in various areas, including construction, labor relations, culture and art, public service, as well as plans for cooperation development in physical culture and sports, agriculture, and food security.

Plans for the development of cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Bishkek for the coming years were also signed.

The Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed their intentions with a memorandum.
