Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, a meeting of the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aktoti Raimkulova and the Director General of the National Agency “Uzbekkino” Firdavs Abdukhalikov took place at the Uzbekkino National Agency.
The meeting resulted in the decision to create a joint film dedicated to Khoja Ahmad Yassawi, the founder of the Yassawi teachings in Central Asia of the 12th century, a Sufi poet of the Middle Ages.
It is expected that this film will play an important role in strengthening the historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and joint work on it will be an important step in the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of cinematography.
In addition, an agreement was reached on holding the Days of Uzbek Cinema in Kazakhstan in early 2020.
“We were greatly impressed by the policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to further strengthen the friendly and strategic partnership between our countries. I think that if we actively cooperate in the field of cinema, it will benefit both countries,” Akti Raimkulova, Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan said.
“I think that the organization of the Days of Uzbek Cinema in Kazakhstan in 2020 will bring the region’s cooperation in the field of cinema to a whole new level,” she added.
“It is noteworthy that in Kazakhstan there is the mausoleum of Ahmad Yassavi, which was built by Amir Temur. This is a clear testament to our common roots. The perpetuation of such historical figures in the cinema is important not only for the development of friendly relations between our countries. This is also necessary for the youth of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as it increases their knowledge of history,” the head of Uzbekkino Firdavs Abdukhalikov said.
At the end of the meeting, Akti Raimkulova presented a souvenir to the Museum of Cinematographic Art at the Uzbekkino National Agency.
