Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting chaired by Ozoda Juraeva, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, was held with Yongdeok Cho, Director of the Global Cooperation Department of South Korea’s K-Water.

K-Water is a leading organization in the field of water resource management, with extensive experience in building reservoirs and canals, supplying drinking water, utilizing rainwater, conducting scientific research, and training specialists.

During the talks, it was noted that in recent years Uzbekistan has been actively pursuing reforms in its water supply and sewerage systems, expanding access to services, with international cooperation playing a key role in addressing pressing challenges.

Key areas of collaboration highlighted included strengthening human resources through educational programs at the Competence Development Institute using the expertise of the K-Water Academy, introducing digital technologies to reduce water losses and improve monitoring efficiency, and Uzbekistan’s accession to the Asian Water Council, where K-Water plays an active role.

“Undoubtedly, through cooperation with K-Water, we will be able to take the sector to a new level and ensure greater satisfaction among the population,” emphasized Ozoda Juraeva.
