Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Abat Faizullaev met with Fabrizio Saggio, the diplomatic advisor to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy, according to the Dunyo News Agency.
During the negotiations, the Italian side noted with satisfaction that the strategic partnership between the two countries is developing steadily and gaining practical content, thanks to high-level reciprocal visits in 2023, economic and cultural events organized in 2024, and the exchange of business missions.
Both sides emphasized the need to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other priority areas.
The Italian side expressed interest in developing effective cooperation in preserving historical and cultural heritage, as well as unlocking the economic potential of Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries.
It was highlighted that Uzbekistan’s status as a beneficiary of the GSP+ trade preference system of the European Union and its desire to develop industrial cooperation with Italy in sectors such as light industry, agriculture, and green energy provide a solid foundation for the interest of not only Italian but also European entrepreneurs in collaboration.
An agreement was reached on cooperation between Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission and the Italian Prime Minister’s office to organize joint events.
