Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between the Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, U. Shadiev, and Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, N. Umar, took place in Jakarta. The discussions were also attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, D. Makhmudov.

During the talks, Minister Umar highlighted Uzbekistan’s strong potential to attract Indonesian tourists, particularly those interested in pilgrimage and cultural tourism.

As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to collaborate on developing pilgrimage tourism routes and the "Umrah+" program with the involvement of Indonesian experts. Additionally, a decision was made to expand educational tourism programs for students enrolled in Islamic educational institutions.
