Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov met with the Regional Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Laura Mattioli.

The parties discussed successful joint projects and promising plans for cooperation in the development of Uzbekistan’s agriculture.

The Minister particularly highlighted the successful implementation of the "Diversification and Modernization of Agriculture" project, launched in 2019. The positive impact of the grant funds on increasing the income and living standards of the rural population in the Ferghana Valley was emphasized.

As part of the project, workshops and training sessions were held on business development, the creation of value chains, export-import, and the use of plant protection laboratory equipment.

A modern laboratory, equipped with high-precision equipment, has been established in Ferghana. Additionally, the construction and equipping of three veterinary clinics in the Ferghana Valley regions are underway.

The meeting also discussed new proposals for cooperation, their effectiveness, and their role in ensuring food security and creating value chains.
