Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 June 2024, the first meeting of the Strategic Council for the Implementation of the Strategic Action Plan (COSPA) between Uzbekistan and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was held in Paris.
The delegation of the Uzaviation Agency, headed by Tahir Nazarov, took an active part in the event.
At the meeting, a state strategic action plan to improve the level of flight safety in Uzbekistan for the period 2024-2026 was signed.
The plan was developed by the Uzaviation Agency jointly with ICAO and provides for extensive measures to improve safety in civil aviation in Uzbekistan.
The implementation of COSPA will be supported by partners such as the French Aviation Administration (DGCA), the French Bureau of Investigation and Analysis of Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), the US Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Transport Safety Board (NTSB), and ACI /ACI-Europe, AIRBUS and the World Bank.
Uzbekistan became the first state to launch a joint COSPA program with ICAO, which underscores its commitment to improving aviation safety and cooperation in this area at the international level.
