Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At present, Uzbekistan is continuing work on training highly qualified personnel in the tourism industry, capable of ensuring the formation of a positive image of the country as an attractive global tourist center.

At the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan last year the International University of Tourism Silk Road in Samarkand was opened. In order to embed the experience of leading foreign educational institutions in the education system of the tourism sector of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for the Development of Tourism is actively working to establish cooperation with foreign partners, the Press Service of the State Committee of Uzbekistan said.

During the visit of the delegation of the State Committee for Tourism to Germany, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Intent between the University of Applied Sciences of Dresden and the International Tourism University Silk Road was held. The document is aimed at developing multilateral cooperation, sharing practical experience, developing joint projects and research and more.

In addition, during the meeting with students of this university, U.Saidov, the head of the State Committee on Tourism, informed about changes in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan, simplification of the visa regime and abolition of visas for citizens of EU countries, investment opportunities, rich cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan. youth tourism.

Following the meeting, a discussion took place in which students were interested in the types of tourism in Uzbekistan, in particular youth, adventure, mountain and extreme, and also expressed their practical proposals for developing tourism and attracting foreign tourists to the republic. At the same time, many participants expressed interest in visiting the republic during the holidays.

Rector of the University Christoph Scholz noted that the German side is ready to cooperate with the International University of Tourism Silk Road, in particular in matters of student exchange and experience, participation in joint research, as well as in preparing a marketing strategy to promote the tourism brand of Uzbekistan in Germany.
