Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center for Oncology and Radiology has taken a decisive step toward reaching European standards.

A cooperation agreement was signed with the Gustave Roussy Institute in France, one of the world’s leading oncology centers.

Gustave Roussy is renowned for its successes in treating breast cancer, brain tumors, prostate cancer, hematologic malignancies, and pediatric oncology. According to the institute, more than 80% of young patients with various degrees of disease severity recover following treatment at the center.

The agreement provides for the exchange of expertise and personnel between the two institutions. Based at the Tashkent center, an advanced oncology facility will be established under the “Gustave Roussy International” brand. This will enable patient diagnosis and treatment using innovative methods, as well as the development of world-class research structures in Uzbekistan.

The document was signed by Rémi Thiole, Director of International Relations at the Gustave Roussy Institute, and Mirzagolib Tillashaykhov, Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center for Oncology and Radiology.
