Uzbekistan and EBRD agree on further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 19 July 12024, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) delegation led by Hüseyin Özhan, Managing Director for Central Asia.

During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on their cooperation with EBRD, its prospects, joint projects, and accumulated experience, as well as the effective economic reforms that have taken place in Uzbekistan in recent years.

The discussion covered changes in the banking and financial sector, including accelerating the privatization processes and transformation of state enterprises. The parties also talked about cooperation in public-private partnership projects in education, healthcare, and energy sectors, continuing the reform of state enterprises, improving project efficiency, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and developing microfinance.

Following the negotiations, both sides agreed to further expand and strengthen their mutually beneficial cooperation.
