Uzbekistan and China Discuss Situation in Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 September 2025, Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, held talks with Yue Xiaoyong, Special Envoy of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Afghanistan.

The interlocutors conducted a detailed “synchronization” on the current situation in Afghanistan, taking into account the rapid developments in the region and globally. They discussed coordination of regional and international efforts for Afghan settlement, as well as upcoming high-level events on the topic.

The negotiations were held in a constructive atmosphere, confirming the mutual interest of both sides in further strengthening practical dialogue between Tashkent and Beijing.
