Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Jamshid Abdusalomov met with Vladimir Barkun, Deputy General Director for Marketing and Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian airline Belavia.
The main topic of discussion was the prospects for tourism development and cooperation in the aviation sector between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
Jamshid Abdusalomov highlighted the significance of the Belarusian tourism market for Uzbekistan, noting that the number of tourists from Belarus to Uzbekistan has been growing, especially after the pandemic, exceeding 15,000 in 2023.
Proposals for further cooperation included developing new routes and increasing flight frequencies between key cities in Uzbekistan and Belarus, joint marketing campaigns, and using Uzbek airports as transit hubs for southern destinations.
Abdusalomov emphasized that further development of partnerships between Uzbekistan and Belarus in tourism and aviation would strengthen bilateral relations and stimulate growth in tourist flows.
In response, Vladimir Barkun expressed Belavia’s readiness to actively participate in implementing the proposed initiatives and highlighted the importance of joint efforts to enhance tourism connections between the two countries.
