Uzbekistan and Belarus discuss military technical cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Belarusian delegation led by the Head of the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko is paying visit to Uzbekistan on 20-22 December 2018.

The Belarusian delegation included leaders of the largest enterprises and organizations of the defense industry of the republic interested in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan.

On 20 December, the Joint Belarusian-Uzbek Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation began its work, chaired by the leaders of the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the defense industry Atabek Ibadullayev.

At the opening of the First Meeting of the Commission, the co-chairmen noted that military-technical cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan is a component of the established trusting relations, comprehensive partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Activation of cooperation between Minsk and Tashkent in the defense sphere meets the fundamental interests of the parties, contributes to peace and stability in the regions of the two countries.

During the visit, the Belarusian delegation is scheduled to meet with the Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Makhmudov and the leadership of a number of departments of Uzbekistan, meetings of sectoral working groups, visits to production facilities.
