Uzbekistan adopts a law regulating the use of phonograms at concerts.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law regulating the use of phonograms at concerts. The legal information channel of the Ministry of Justice reported on the development.

The law introduces amendments to existing legislation, clarifying the powers of the Ministry of Culture in promoting live performance arts. In particular, it establishes different levels of phonogram usage during concert and entertainment events.

Under the new regulations, musical performances can be conducted in three ways: live performance, performance with partial use of a phonogram, or performance with full use of a phonogram. The level of phonogram usage must be explicitly stated in the event’s promotional materials.

The law introduces amendments to the Consumer Rights Protection Act and the Advertising Act. Additionally, it mandates that concert programs must include the names of performers and authors of all musical works performed. The law takes immediate effect upon its official publication.
