Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 September 2024, the practice of issuing insurance policies in paper form will be abolished in Uzbekistan.

This is envisaged by the Presidential resolution “On comprehensive measures for the further development of the insurance services market.”

Also, from 1 September, registration of insurance (reinsurance) contracts and registration of insurance policies of all types of insurance through the Unified Automated Information System become mandatory.

Failure to issue insurance policies through the Unified Automated Information System is considered grounds for their invalidation and is considered a one-time gross violation of the licensing requirements and conditions of the insurer.

The National Agency for Prospective Projects will begin rating insurers based on the quality of insurance services provided and publish it in the media.

The responsibility for ensuring timely execution of compulsory insurance contracts will be assigned to:

Tax Committee and the Ministry of Transport for civil liability of the employer and the carrier.

Inspectorate for control of mining, geological and industrial safety for civil liability for causing harm to life, health and property of other persons and the environment in the event of an accident at hazardous production facilities.

Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services for construction risks during the construction of facilities at the expense of public funds and loans guaranteed by the Government.
