According to the company, Uzbekenergo works on 10 projects on construction of new and modernization of existing generating capacities, which will help to increase production level by 850.4 megawatt.
In particular, the company is planning to construct and modernize heating generating capacities (640 megawatt), hydro generating capacities (102.5 megawatt) and solar energy (100 megawatt).
The programme includes six projects on modernization of electricity consumption accounting in the regions and production of spare parts and ready goods. The projects will be implemented till the end of 2020.
In 2014-2018, Uzbekenergo is planning to modernize Takhiatash thermal power station with the costof US$700 million. The project envisages construction of two combined-cycle power plants with capacity of 250 megawatts each with removing old blocks.
By 2016, Uzbekenergo will direct US$350 million to modernization of electricity consumption accounting in seven regions with attraction of the loans of the Asian Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
In 2014-2016, the company is planning to construct photoelectric power station in Samarkand region with total cost of US$305 million.
