Uzbekenergo to construct power station in Navoi region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted decision on implementation of a project on construction of gas power station to increase electricity supply to Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine, RIA Novosti reported.

The report said that Uzbekenergo state joint stock company will prepare all documents to include the project to state investment programme for 2014.

The project with preliminary cost of US$103 million envisages construction of the power plant due to foreign loans and the funds of the Uzbek side. The plant with the capacity of 200 megawatt will produce electricity and heat. It is planned to launch it by the end of 2015.

Uzbekenergo completed construction of external electricity supply objects for NGMK with the cost of US$34.2 million in 2012.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekenergo plans to construct another new heating power station in Namangan region by 2013. The capacity of the plant is 900 megawatt and the project cost is US$1 billion.
