Uzbek, US breast cancer organizations sign agreement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation signed agreement on cooperation.

Currently, The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is largest charity organization on fighting breast cancer and supports women’s societies worldwide, invests resources to development of methods on treatment and informs society to achieve earlier diagnosis. The agreement allows to expand charity activity of “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association in Uzbekistan and carry out several joint projects.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation fights for lives of women worldwide through 100,000 volunteers. Nancy Goodman Brinker founded the Foundation in memory of her sister Susan Goodman Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36.

The fund is international leader on fighting breast cancer and it carries out its activities through providing grants to researches, educational, scientific and charity programmes worldwide. The foundation has partners in over 50 countries and Uzbekistan became the first county in Central Asia, which has agreement with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

In its turn, Uzbekistan has been carrying out measures on early prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and other cancer diseases in last three years through efforts of specialists and society, as well as “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association. Annually, the Association held several wide-scale events to improve medical-social and psychological support of women. Among them are charity events, concerts, auctions to raise resources to support “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association and attract attention of society to problems of women with breast cancer. One of key charity projects is annual project Forum-Marathon, which attracted over 38,000 people in just two years.

“In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association helped over 15,000 women in Uzbekistan to undergo free diagnosis. Over 300 women were provided medicaments for 900.43 million soums. The Uzbek specialists participate in master classes, conducted by foreign specialists.
