Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, held negotiations with Wizz Air CEO József Váradi and Hungarian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, József Rózsa.

The meeting focused on expanding Wizz Air’s route network for flights from Uzbekistan to Europe and increasing transit flights through the country.

Wizz Air CEO József Váradi expressed interest in boosting the frequency of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s Tashkent – Abu Dhabi – Tashkent flights, launching new routes to Namangan and Urgench, and exploring the possibility of establishing a joint airline in Uzbekistan.

In response, Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov proposed establishing a direct air connection between Uzbekistan and Hungary by launching a Tashkent – Budapest – Tashkent route by the end of this year.
