Uzbek Tourist Information Center opens in Pakistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 March 2019, at the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan in the city of Islamabad, the Uzbek Tourist Information Center was opened.

Its main goal is to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, to conduct marketing research in the field of tourism in Pakistan, to provide information about events, sightseeing routes, entertainment and other tourism products. The center will also be engaged in the development of innovative technologies to attract tourists to Uzbekistan.

State Minister for the Environment and Climate Change of Pakistan Zartaj Gul, who participated in the opening ceremony of the Center, said: “Uzbekistan’s Pakistan has always attracted great interest and spiritually draws our hearts to a greater knowledge of your ancient culture. Most Pakistani families proudly consider themselves to be the descendants of the great Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and the natives of the oldest Uzbek cities, such as Bukhara and Samarkand. ”

The minister stressed that millions of Pakistani pilgrims dream of visiting the most ancient cities of Uzbekistan, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, Termez and others that have a thousand-year history. Pakistani pilgrims treat with great respect the heritage of Bahauddin Naqshbandi and the Seven Feasts of Sufism in Uzbekistan.

“Therefore, when we in Pakistan talk about Sufism, we primarily perceive Uzbekistan,” said Zartaj Gul.

Representatives of political, scientific, academic, public and business circles, travel companies, as well as popular media of Pakistan attended the event.
