Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The next stage of the Youth World Cup in saber fencing was held in Plovdiv (Bulgaria). The competitions were held in an exciting struggle.

In the qualifying stages of the team program, the Uzbek saber fencers beat the representatives of Great Britain, Romania, and the Egyptian team in the semifinals. In the final meeting, our compatriots lost to the French team with a score of 42:45 and won silver medals.

This result of the Uzbek boys brought the team 52 points for the world ranking. And this, in turn, allowed the domestic team to rise to second place. As for the women’s part of the tournament, the representatives of the national team of Uzbekistan finished the competition in the top eight.
