Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prunes branded as "Made in Uzbekistan" have been exported to Australia for the first time to be used in the production of natural jams and syrups by Beerenberg, a company specializing in Australian natural products.
With the assistance of the Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Eastern Agro Export signed a contract with Australian partners to supply prunes to Australia.
"A shipment of 20 tons of ‘Vengerka’ prunes was sent to the port of Melbourne, Australia. The total contract value is US$485,000," said Mirkomol Kayumov, an export specialist at Eastern Agro Export.
It is also worth noting that the product was shipped in specially marked packaging featuring the "Made in Uzbekistan" logo, which helps increase the recognition of Uzbek products in the Australian market.
