Uzbek leader visited Kashkadarya scientific-research institute for selection and seed-growing of grain cultures and communicated with scientists and researchers, UzA reported.
The institute develops grain products based on peculiarities of local soil and climate conditions, improves yield, etc.
Uzbek President said that Kashkadarya regin has great economic potential and opportunities. The institute was created to study soil and climate conditions and effective use of the potential. He added that Uzbekistan should create more quality sorts of wheat.
He recalled that Uzbekistan produce only 800,000 tonnes of grain in early independence years and imported 5 million tonnes. In 2010, Uzbekistan exported over 400,000 tonnes, he added.
President of Uzbekistan paid a visit to modern football base of Nasaf in Karshi city. During the visit he familiarized with created conditions at stadium for football players and fans.
At the end of the visit, President Islam Karimov gifted a modern bus to Nasaf football club.
