Uzbek President receives US General Lloyd James Austin

Islam Karimov noted expressly the constructive and progressive character of the Uzbek-American dialogue that has been facilitating a steady enhancement of ties across all spheres of shared interest, UzA reported.

While addressing the regional agenda, the parties to today’s talks exchanged views on prospects of peaceful resolution in Afghanistan.

General Austin expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for a warm reception and the opportunity for an in-depth deliberation on the issues pressing for both sides.

The US official stressed the interest of the US leadership in furthering the relations between our two nations.
