Uzbek leader welcomed the guest and underlined expansion of wide-scale trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE.

Islam Karimov said: “We highly value dynamically developing bilateral relations. The visit of delegation of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates was fruitful. Wide-scale work in implementation of agreements is underway.”

Mohammad AlGergawi, in his turn, expressed gratitude to the Uzbek President for frank receipt and said that the UAW pay great attention to development of trade-economic and investment cooperation with Uzbekistan.

The sides exchanged opinion on further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE.

As earlier reported, Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund and Dubai Holding of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) founded a joint investment company - UzEmiratHolding - to invest perspectives projects in Uzbekistan and abroad. On 22 October, The Government of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund and Dubai Holding signed an agreement on creation of joint investment company Uzemiratholding.

Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE made up US$93.1 million in 2007. About 70 joint ventures with the UAE investments work in Uzbekistan in such sectors as food industry, electronics, textile, constriction materials, etc.
