Uzbek President receives credentials from new envoys
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received credentials from Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary – Nicolas Brühl of Swiss Confederation, Mohammad Nour Othman Yousef Balkar of Jordan, Muhammad Sodiq Daudzai of Afghanistan and Guseyn Rzagulu oglu Kuliev of Azerbaijan – at presidential residence Oqsaroy on 5 February 2012.

Welcoming new envoys, President of Uzbekistan congratulated them with start of their honourable and responsible mission in Uzbekistan and wished success in further developing bilateral relations.

Swiss Ambassador Nicolas Brühl said that there are significant untapped opportunities for expansion of bilateral cooperation and he is ready to do his best in this direction.

At the meeting, it was said that Uzbekistan and Jordan are interesting in boosting bilateral contacts in political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Jordan Ambassador underlined that leadership of Kingdom pays great attention to expansion of relations with Uzbekistan, which, despite adverse effects of the global financial and economic crisis, demonstrates sustainable development dynamics, opening new opportunities for promoting relations in various fields.

During the meeting with Afghan envoy, historical ties of friendship between two countries and peoples, and centuries-old traditions of good neighborhood and mutual support serve as solid base for strengthening modern Uzbek-Afghan dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.

Muhammad Sodiq Daudzai said that Uzbekistan’s assistance in the reconstruction of the Afghan economy is appreciated with deep gratitude in his country, and that a special emphasis is placed on bolstering the equally gainful ties with the Uzbek side, without which it is hardly possible to perceive of a constructive and fair solution to regional issues.

At the meeting with Azerbaijani envoy, it was stated that Uzbek-Azeri relations are developing successfully in all directions. Regular meetings at high level allow to discuss actual bilateral and international issues.

Guseyn Kuliyev has assured the head of our state that he sees his principal task as an ambassador in essentially preserving and amplifying the accumulated practice of mutually useful relations, in helping promote the implementation of novel joint projects and agreements that would meet the interests of our two nations.
