Uzbek President meets Latvian Saeima Speaker

During the meeting Solvita Āboltiņa stated that Uzbekistan is an important partner of Latvia in Central Asia. She said that active political dialogue and regular exchange of visit can be evidence to this.

Speaker of Latvian parliament said that for last 20 years bilateral relations reached significant levels. She said that Latvia highly rates role of Uzbekistan the region. She added that Uzbekistan recommended itself as reliable ally and guarantee of security in the Central Asian region.

Solvita Āboltiņa added that the countries are developing parliamentary relations and said the Latvian parliament can share with its experience in law-creation process.

During the meeting, the sides considered issues of trade-economic and investment cooperation, including in tourism. The sides expressed readiness to develop interaction in education sector.
