Uzbek President expresses condolences to people of Turkmenistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov held a telephone conversation with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov on 11 July 2011.

Turkmenistan State News Agency reported that the Uzbek leader expressed condolences in connection with accident near Abadan city on behalf of the Uzbek people.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov assured President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov that Uzbekistan is ready to render any help and assistance to Turkmenistan in any minute.

Uzbek head said that people of two countries, who lived back-to-back for centuries and millenniums, always shared joy and difficulties and assisted each other in ordeals. He added that Turkmen people and government can always hope for help of Uzbekistan.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov expressed gratitude to the Uzbek leader for condolences and support, as well as offered help. Turkmen leader briefed his Uzbek colleague on situation in Abadan and added that the situation is stabilized and rehabilitation works of buildings are underway. He added that local people receive all necessary aid.

Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov said: “Nevertheless, we highly rate intention of the Uzbek people, which is another sign of deep brotherhood feelings.”

At the end of the telephone call, initiated by the Uzbek side, President Islam Karimov expressed condolences to families and relatives of lost and asked to deliver words of supports to victims of the accident.
