Uzbek President expresses condolences to Latvian leader
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has sent a letter of condolence to President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Berzins due to the human victims brought about by the collapse of roof at a shopping mall in the capital Riga, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.
The roof of a supermarket Maxima collapsed in the Latvian capital Riga on 21 November 2013.
According to the latest data, at least 48 people are known to have died when the roof of the supermarket collapsed.
Three of those killed were emergency workers who were helping people trapped when more of the roof came down.
