The letter reads that the time-tested relations of friendship, neighborliness, mutual support and respect between the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples serve as model of constructive and equally advantageous cooperation and remain as a reliable backbone of peace and harmony, security and stability in the region.

Islam Karimov expressed conviction that the mutual confidence, community of positions and concurrence of views of our two countries on principal issues of international politics will continue to enhance and advance in the interests of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
