Uzbek President Islam Karimov was welcomed at Beijing Capital International Airport. The flags of two nations were raised and guard of honour was lined up, UzA reported.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, which was allocated to the delegation of Uzbekistan.

The visit is taking place within the regular political dialogue between leaders of Uzbekistan and China, which allows to develop bilateral relations on systematic basis.

The main events of the official visit, including meetings at high level, are planned for 6 June 2012.

A joint declaration on strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China is expected to be signed during the visit. The two sides also plan to ink other bilateral documents designed to bolster the Uzbek-Chinese interaction in political, economic, investment and other spheres.
