Uzbek President abolishes special commissions on residence permit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree “On measures on improving rules of passport system in Tashkent city and Tashkent region” on 22 September 2011.

The document was adopted in line with the law “On list of category of persons – citizens of Uzbekistan, subject to permanent residency in Tashkent city and Tashkent region”.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov abolished permissive order of resident permit of the citizens of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Tashkent city and Tashkent region from other regions of the country.

Islam Karimov also abolished order of temporary residence of the citizens of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Tashkent city and Tashkent region. The Uzbek head introduced registration process of those people, who arrived in Tashkent city and Tashkent region from other regions of the country.

With his decree, President closed special commissions under administrations of Tashkent city and Tashkent region on consideration of issues of residence permit of the citizens, who arrived in from other regions.

In line with the decree, residence permit and registration of citizens in Tashkent city and Tashkent region will be conducted by the interior bodies of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov entrusted Prosecutor-General Office to ensure regular and systematic supervision over adhering to rights of the citizens on residence permit and legislation in this area.
