Uzbek, Polish MPs hold talks in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis hosted a meeting with deputy chairman of Sejm of Poland Stefan Niesiołowski.

Polish MP received information on ongoing democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, achievements of Uzbekistan during independence years, position of Uzbekistan on several actual international issues.

In his turn, Poland Stefan Niesiołowski, underlining important role of parliament and political parties in life of the government and forming of democratic society, said that the Polish side is ready to render consulting in development of democratic institutes.

Stefan Niesiołowski underlined that bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Poland have great unused potential.

During the meeting, it was proposed to create “Poland-Uzbekistan Friendship Group” at Polish Parliament to boost bilateral inter-parliamentary relations. It was said that the Group will help to strengthen and lift inter-parliamentary relations between two states. It was said that the group can be created in autumn 2011.

Niesiołowski highly rated role of Uzbekistan in ensuring stability in the Central Asian region and position on settlement of conflict in Uzbekistan. He said that the terrorism is global problem and all countries should join to solve it.

Polish MP expressed his satisfaction with fruitful meeting and expressed hope for further developing effective cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland.
