Uzbek parties complete collecting backup signatures
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
All four political parties of Uzbekistan have collected and handed over the required number of signatures that allow them to be qualified for the 27 December parliamentary election.
All political parties have collected backup signatures of voters and handed them over the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
In order to take part in the election, the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan gathered and handed over 44,346 signatures of its supporters.
The Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan has collected the largest number of signatures among the Uzbek political parties. The party collected over 66,400 signatures during the period between 25 September and 10 October.
The Adolat Social Democratic Party has collected 46,522 signatures and the Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) Democratic Party gathered 44,000 signatures.
The working group of the CEC has been verifying the signature lists, and representatives from all political parties have been taking part in the checking process.
