Uzbek official visit intl financial conference in Berlin
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of Central Bank, Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Banking Association participated at the international conference “Systems of accounting in consumer crediting”.

The visit of the delegation was organized by the IFC project on strengthening financial infrastructure in Central Asia and Azerbaijan (ACAFI project) in cooperation with the project of Germen Technical Cooperation Society (GTZ) “Assisting to development of microfinancing in Central Asia” and UNDP Uzbekistan project “Support on developing microfinance sector”.

The conference, which was attended by representatives of the state bodies, credit bureaus and companies, participating in exchange of credit information, is conducted once in two years in various parts of the world.

The conference, which took place on 26-28 September 2010 in Berlin, focused on global financial crisis and role of credit information exchange in overcoming and mitigation of its consequences. Participants also considered various aspects of credit information exchange, its impact to financial sector.

Participants familiarized with advanced experience on development of credit information exchange worldwide, including in European Union, USA, Great Britain, Australia, Singapore, Korea, China and others. Received information will help representatives of Uzbekistan in development of draft law “On activity of credit bureaus and credit information exchange” in Uzbekistan.

The ACAFI project is participating in the development of the draft law. The ACI project’s main goal of the project is to develop credit information exchange in Uzbekistan to improve access to financing for small businesses and population.

The ACAFI project is realized in cooperation with the Swiss government and financed through State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
