"Police in the suburb of Tashkent Region stopped a Matiz car heading for Kazakhstan at night. Plastic bags containing white substance were found under the front seats of the car. An analysis showed that it was heroin totalling to over 13.5 kg. Residents of Yuqori Chirchiq District, Alisher Jumadilov and Timur Holmirzayev, were in the car. As was established, they attempted to use the Uzbek territory as a transit pass from Tajikistan to Kazakhstan. A resident of South Kazakhstan Region had hired the men for 500 dollars to traffic the drugs into Kazakhstan," the report said.
An investigation is under way, it added.
