Uzbek NGO, Turkish agency ink cooperation memorandum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Republican public union Jenskoye Sobraniye (Women Assembly) signed a memorandum of cooperation with representative office of Turkish Agency on Cooperation and Development (TIKA) in Uzbekistan.

The document is aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in supporting women in social, economic, spiritual and other sectors, contributing to development of science, education and culture, promoting health life style among youth, allocating grants to businesswomen, helping in social protection and rehabilitation of mothers and children with disabilities, etc.

Doctor Demir Berkir, head of TIKA office in Uzbekistan, said: “Great attention is paid to role of women in the society in Uzbekistan. TIKA intends to contribute to this. Within the memorandum, we are planning to develop projects in such areas as science, education, and organize symposiums, provide equipment and exchange experience.”

TIKA was founded in 1992. The organization was created under Turkish Prime Minister office to provide technical assistance to developing countries and strengthening relations with tnem in economy, trade, technology, agriculture, culture, education and social development. Currently, TIKA has offices in 23 countries and implements projects in 100 countries.

TIKA has been working in Uzbekistan since 1992. It implemented economic, trade, technical, educational, social and cultural projects and programmes.
