Uzbekistan 05/03/2008 Uzbek MPs hold meetings in central regions

During the meetings the MPs are considering such issues like explaining to people the parliament’s laws and other legislative acts as well as president’s resolutions and decrees. The MPs are also concentrating on the issues of people’s political, legal, economic and spiritual awareness. They are taking an active interest in people’s way of life and their point of view on a number of issues.

The same atmosphere could be felt at meetings in Payariq and Jomboy districts [of central Samarqand Region] where the deputy speaker of the Legislative Chamber and the head of the parliamentary faction of the People’s Democratic Party [of Uzbekistan], Asliddin Rustamov, met local voters. The deputy spoke about reforms being carried out in all fields, the results of reforms and future tasks.

Bakhtiyor Soatov, who was elected an MP of [Uzbek] parliament’s Legislative Chamber from the fifth electoral district of [central] Jizzakh Region, first of all, visited the region’s neighbourhoods and familiarized himself with the activity of neighbourhood committees. He also visited newly-constructed clinics and schools.

The MP’s meeting with voters mainly discussed social issues, as the MP himself had expected. In particular, people asked to create new jobs for young people who live in the region’s Saykhon neighbourhood.
