The event was aimed at presenting investment proposals in the industry, current state and perspectives of development of textile and silk industry of Uzbekistan.

The participants familiarized with preferences, provided for businesses, existing potential in processing cotton-fiber, production of products with added value, demands of external and internal markets.

They also received information about modern transport-communication network of Uzbekistan, free industrial and economic zone Navoi and special industrial zone Angren, as well as perspectives of investment cooperation.

The presentation was held within the second session of the Uzbek-Indian joint group on cooperation in textile industry, which was held at the Ministry of textile of India at the support of Embassy of Uzbekistan.

The session considered actual issues of expanding cooperation in trade and attracting investments into textile industry. It was noted that Uzbekistan created favourable conditions for foreign investors and developing industrial potential. A memorandum of understanding between Uzbekyengilsanoat and Indian Council on support of silk producers was signed at the end of the session.

The Uzbek delegation also familiarized with activities of International Commission on silk production, which unites 13 countries.
