Uzbekistan 20/04/2007 Uzbek leader’s book presented in India

The presentation of the book by the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov "The Uzbek people will never depend on anyone" presented in New Delhi, India.

 

The presentation took place within seminar “Current geopolitical changes in Central Asia: Uzbek-Indian relation”, which was organized by Defence Research and Analysis Institution under Indian Defence Ministry in cooperation with Strategic and Interregional Researches Institute under Uzbek President.

 

The participants received information on the Uzbek president’s book. It was noted that leadership of Uzbekistan adheres to democracy, Jahon news agency reported.

 

Arun Mohanti, president of Indian Fund Eurasia, the book of the Uzbek president disclosed attempt of external forces to influence internal events and situation in the region. He said that each country has its own democratic development way based on cultural-historic specification.

 

Professot K. Variku, director of programme on study of Central Asia of Neru University, said the book of the Uzbek leader is reliable source for experts and specialists on Central Asia, who want to see real picture in the region.

 

N. Ravi, Deputy Foreign Ministry, said historic relations between Uzbekistan and India, cultural-spiritual commonness of two nations will serve firm ground to further development of mutual beneficial relations.

 

N. Sisodia, director of Defence Research and Analysis Institution, said reforms in social-political and economic spheres of Uzbekistan attract great interest in India. Uzbekistan located in centre of Central Asia and this increase geo-strategic importance of the country.

 

Sisodia added that steps of the Uzbek leadership on maintenance of security in the region are important for neighboring states, including India.
