Uzbek President Islam Karimov received General Motors Europe (GME) President Carl-Peter Forster and General Motors-Daewoo Auto & Technology (GMDAT) President Michael Grimaldi in the Oqsaroy presidential residence on 9 October.
Welcoming the guests, President Islam Karimov said that strengthening relations between the companies of Uzbekistan and General Motors shows a great aspiration of sides to mutual cooperation.
Indeed, setting up new production will make it possible for our country to learn the General Motors corporation’s advanced experience and its new technologies, and for General Motors to expand its market for Chervolet cars in Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
The head of the GME, Forster, expressed his sincere gratitude to the president of our country for all-round support in the process of setting up the GM Uzbekistan. He also said that the new joint venture would serve strengthening mutual cooperation.
During the talks, the sides exchanged views in detail on issues related to prospects for cooperation between the companies of Uzbekistan and of the GME and the GMDAT.
