Uzbek President Islam Karimov met Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, who had arrived in our country on an official visit, at the Oqsaroy presidential residence today.

Meeting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Uzbek President Islam Karimov welcomed him in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek leader said that active cooperation between the two states within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization brought them closer together and strengthened mutual trust.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said that he was happy to visit our country and that the Tashkent session of the council of the heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was of great significance to developing mutual cooperation.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the current state of and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
