President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution to boost edible oil and fat industry via modernization of capacities and deep processing of cotton seeds, as well as production of export oriented and import replacing products.

The document said main tasks of the programme on modernization and re-equipment of enterprises of edible oil and fat industry are improvement of quality of products and export them, expand production and manufacture new goods. The enterprises should also work on improvement of effectiveness and efficiency of enterprises.

The resolution freed imports of raw materials and materials, which are not produced in Uzbekistan and used to production of soap, from customs duties, except value added tax and customs registration fee from 2007 to 2011.
