Uzbek leader appoints public education minister
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on appointment of the Public Education Minister on 2 March 2010.
In line with decree, Avazjon Marakhimov was approved to the post of the Public Education Minister of Uzbekistan.
Avazjon Marakhimov replaced Gayrat Shoumarov, who had headed the ministry since 28 April 2008. Prior to appointment, Marakhimov worked as deputy minister of higher and secondary special education.
