During the session, the representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Interior Ministry and the National Security Service discussed preventing and investigating crimes related to religious extremism and terrorism, conducting searches, as well as ensuring the fulfilment of the Uzbek president’s decree of 6 September 2000 "On freeing the Uzbek citizens who had joined terrorist groups by deceit from criminal responsibility".

Participants criticized law-enforcement agencies for failing to prevent crimes and reveal individuals had fallen under the influence of extremist groups.
