Uzbek-Korean seminar in Tashkent discusses environment issues
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Uzbek-Korean seminar on improving potential and exchange of experience on assessment of impact to environment is taking place in Tashkent.

State Committee of Uzbekistan on protecting environment and Research Institute on protection of environment of Korean (KEI) organized the seminar in line with memorandum of understanding between the Uzbek committee and Environment Ministry on cooperation in sphere of environment.

Representatives of Environment Committee, hydrometeorology institute, KEI and others participated at the seminar.

Participants discussed main aspects of legislation, regulating and assessment of impact to environment in Uzbekistan and South Korea.

Attendees noted that procedures on assessment of impact to environment is the most effective measure of preventing possible negative consequences and ecologic risks of antropogenic activity.

Participants discussed and shares experience on improving system on waste management, ecologic issues in mining sector, water quality, etc. Korean specialists briefed the Uzbek colleagues on their experience of developing programme on decreasing impact to environment in mining sector.

The seminar’s participants also visited nature-conservative objects in Tashkent city and Tashkent region.
