Uzbek Interior Ministry proposes reducing tinting violation fine
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is considering a significant reduction in fines for violating vehicle window tinting regulations, potentially lowering the penalty 25 times. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has drafted a bill proposing these changes, which has been submitted for public discussion.
The proposed amendments introduce a new Article 126-1 to the Administrative Code. Under this provision, drivers violating tinting regulations would face a fine of 1 size of basic estimated value (375,000 soums).
Currently, under Article 126, using mirrored, tinted, or other window coatings that restrict visibility carries a fine of 25 sizes of basic estimated value (9.375 million soums). The public discussion of the draft law will continue until 11 April 2025.
Additionally, under the new 12-point penalty system, unauthorized tinting violations would result in a 0.5-point deduction. A driver accumulating 12 points would lose their driving privileges.
