Uzbek head appoints new foreign minister
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appointed new minister of foreign affairs of the country on 28 December 2010.

In line with the decree of the Uzbek leader, Elyor Ganiev will take the post of the minister of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan. Ganiev will replace Vladimir Norov, who worked at this post from 12 July 2006.

Prior to appointment, Elyor Ganiev worked as deputy prime minister and minister of foreign economic relations, investment and trade of Uzbekistan. In line with the decree, he will keep his post of the deputy prime minister.

With another decree, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appointed Vladimir Norov as the first deputy minister of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan.
